Invite a developer to your Cloudflare account
Cloudflare account members let a developer deploy or maintain a website without using your login. You keep ownership and can change or revoke permissions later.
Before sending the invitation
Use an account with a verified email and the Super Administrator role to manage members. The invited developer doesn’t need that role.
Account invitations don’t require an active domain. For access limited to a specific domain, add it to Cloudflare first and select a plan. It can still be pending a nameserver change.
Add the member
- Open the account in the Cloudflare dashboard, then Manage Account → Members → Invite members.
- Enter the developer’s email address.
- Add permission policies. Select the account resources or specific domain, then only the roles needed for the work. DNS management and website deployment can need different policies; ask the developer for the exact scopes and roles.
- Send the invitation. The developer accepts it using their own Cloudflare account.
Avoid granting Super Administrator or billing access for routine website work. A missing permission can be added later; passwords and API keys don’t need to be emailed.
Change or remove access
Under Members, select the person to edit their policies or remove access. Removing deployment access also prevents future updates until the necessary permissions are restored.
