Register a domain with Cloudflare

Buy your domain in your own name and account. That keeps ownership, renewals and access under your control, even if a developer builds the website.

Register the address

  1. Create a Cloudflare account and verify your email address.
  2. Open Domain Registration → Register Domains and search for your preferred address.
  3. Check the purchase and renewal price. Enter accurate registrant and billing details, then complete the purchase.
  4. Complete any domain-verification email and review auto-renewal and payment settings.

A domain registered through Cloudflare already uses Cloudflare DNS. You don’t need to change nameservers. Hosting and business email are separate services; choose those only if you need them.

If the domain isn’t available

An address may already be registered, or Cloudflare may not support its ending. For an unsupported ending, register it with another provider and follow the Cloudflare DNS migration guide.

Give a developer access

If someone else will deploy your website, invite them to your Cloudflare account. Keep registration and billing under your control.
